Using Handouts

Handouts are one of the most powerful tools on OT Connected. They let you create personalized client handouts with curated product recommendations — powered by AI.


What Is a Handout?

A handout is a shareable document you create for your clients. It includes a title, a description of the client's needs, and a list of recommended products tailored to their situation.

You can download it as a PDF, share it via a link, or print it out.


Creating Your First Handout

  1. From your Dashboard, click Handouts
  2. Click Create New Handout
  3. Follow the 3-step process:
  4. Review the product suggestions, make any changes, and save

Tip: The more detail you include in your description, the better SAMIE's product recommendations will be.

Managing Your Handouts

From the Handouts page, you can:

  • Search your handouts by title
  • Filter by tags you've added
  • Edit any handout to update the title, description, or products
  • Duplicate a handout to use it as a starting point for a new one
  • Delete handouts you no longer need

Downloading and Sharing

  • Download as PDF — Click the download button on any handout to get a printable PDF
  • Share a link — Generate a shareable link that your client can open in their browser to view the products and purchase them directly

If you're on a Premium or Pro plan, your shared handouts will display your custom branding (logo, colors, and practice info). See the Your Profile & Settings guide to set up branding.

Giving Feedback on AI Recommendations

After SAMIE generates product recommendations, you'll see thumbs up/down buttons. Use these to let us know if the suggestions were helpful — it helps us improve the AI over time.
